1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, October 2nd. Today we celebrate and recognize Hispanic Heritage Month in the theme of film. Did you know that Guillermo del Toro, the famous Mexican director, created some of the most visually stunning films in Hollywood, like Pan's Labyrinth and The Shape of Water? His work has made a major impact on the film industry and earned him multiple Academy Awards.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Cell phones and wireless earbuds should be stored away and out of sight the entire school day, even during lunch. This is a reminder that KPMS is a fragrance-free school. Please support the healthy breathing of all humans by keeping fragrances at home.
3. Please keep your hands off of the vending machine. If you have an issue with a transaction, there is a number on the machine you can contact after school for assistance. Theft will be addressed with corrective action and remember, you are on camera!
4. Our soccer and volleyball team took on the Roadrunners of Goodman yesterday. Thank you to all the fans who came out and exhibited positive sportsmanship. Girls volleyball showed great growth from the beginning of the season and displayed perseverance and grit throughout the matches. Boys soccer got both W's and showed a tremendous amount of growth from last season. Both teams are on their way toward amazing feats and we appreciate all of the efforts our student athletes put forth every day.
5. Clubs are rolling! Crochet Club met yesterday, Drama Club on Tuesday and Thursday, Tech Club today, PRIDE Club meets on Wednesdays, Cougar Catch-Up on Tuesday and Thursday, Art Club starts on Tuesday, October 8th and Cooking Club via Zoom on October 9th. Clubs will meet their advisor in the commons after school before heading off to their club location. You can get a registration form in the main office to sign up for our amazing clubs!
6. Our first KPMS Spirit Day is coming up this Friday. The theme is "Future Day" where students are encouraged to dress up based on what they think fashion will look like in the future. This includes a future job or career, or future clothing trends. The yearbook team will be snapping picks throughout the day to capture school spirit!
7. The PBIS Cougar Pride Store will be open today in the Cougar Cafe. Line up down the hallway during lunch/honortime to pick up items you've purchased online. You may purchase items today and tomorrow for pickup on Friday.
Let's make it a great day and continue to develop an inclusive school community where everyone feels like they belong!
