10/14/24
1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Monday, October 14th. Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time for us to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples in the United States. Indigenous communities have been here for thousands of years, and their traditions and knowledge are an important part of our shared history. As we go through our day, let's take a moment to appreciate the land we are on and reflect on the importance of respecting and learning from all cultures. Together, we can help create a school where everyone feels valued and heard.
2. Keep walking right and talking right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Cell phones and wireless earbuds should be stored away and out of sight the entire school day, even during lunch. Please clean up after yourself or others at lunch and remain seated in the cafeteria so we can experience all of honor time.
3. This is a reminder that we are having our first all school assembly today at the end of 1st period. Please wait until an ASB representative arrives at your classroom to escort your classes to the gym. Justin Washington is joining us to present on the Power of Words. This is a formal assembly and expectations are that we show respect and engage fully with the presenter.
4. Our soccer and volleyball teams will take on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge tomorrow at home. We are wrapping up the fall season this week, so keep cheering on and encouraging our student-athletes as they represent Cougar Nation!
5. This is a reminder that the crochet club is canceled today. Also, remember that Cougar Catch up is available every Tuesday and Thursday with Mrs. Kaizer. This is a great opportunity to get academic support and assistance on missing work as we come up on the final three weeks of the 1st quarter.
Let's make it a great day and continue to display kindness and respect toward all members of our school community!
