11/21/24
1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, November 21st. We continue throughout the month of November celebrating and recognizing Native American Heritage Month. Honoring Native American Heritage Month means learning with respect and curiosity. Today we recognize Ira Hayes, a Pima Native American, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was one of the soldiers who raised the flag at Iwo Jima. His bravery is celebrated to this day as part of a proud military tradition among Native Americans.
2. Continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Cell phones and wireless earbuds should be stored away and out of sight. Keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Don't end up on Mr. G's Friday tardy report.
3. Cougar Wrestling takes on the Roadrunners of Goodman today starting at 3:30 pm at Goodman Middle School. Let's continue to encourage and support our student-athletes in giving their best effort and representing Cougar Nation proud!
4. This Friday we will have an ASB meeting during Cougar Academy. Only one ASB representative from each Cougar Academy needs to be present. If you are the ASB representative for your Cougar Academy, check in with your teacher for attendance and go straight to the commons on Friday. Thank you for your leadership and representation of our school community!
5. We close out this week with another KPMS Spirit Day! This Friday is Color Wars! Students are encouraged to dress in their grade's color to show their school spirit! 6th grade is white, 7th grade is grey, and 8th grade is red! Let's see which grade wins on Friday and shows off the most Cougar Spirit!
Let's make it a great day and continue to display kindness, respect, and inclusion toward all members of our school community!
