12/6/24
1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, December 6th. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Cell phones and wireless earbuds should be stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Remember to remain seated in the cafeteria and that no food or drink is allowed outside or in the hallways. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of!
2. Cougar Wrestling took on the Roadrunners of Goodman yesterday. It was a 7-point narrow team loss, but the team displayed toughness and grit battling back from 24 points down early on in the meet. The last week of the season is next week with the District Championship Meet happening on Thursday at PHS from 3-8 pm. Let's continue to encourage and support our student-athletes in giving their best effort and representing Cougar Nation proud!
3. We can't wait for the girls basketball season to start up after winter break. Girls basketball registration is open! Coaches are looking for a large turnout, so get registered on our website through final forms. If you have questions please connect with the main office and ensure you have all the registration forms and a current physical on file so you are ready to go right after break.
4. Cougs...continue rocking those straight A's! As we head into the last 5 weeks of the semester, continue reaching for excellence and getting caught up early. Bring a growth mindset to everything you do and focus on always improving one step at a time. Remember that Cougar Catch-Up is available after school every Tuesday and Thursday to get extra academic support.
5. Next Thursday, December 12th at 6 pm, Drama Club will show off their hard work so far this year with a showcase. Come on out to see our Cougar Drama Club in the spotlight as they perform short plays and songs.
6. In an effort to bring some much-needed help to our community, KPMS will be running a food drive competition in Cougar Academy from December 9th till December 20th. Partnering with Communities In Schools and the Food Backpacks 4 Kids program, students will be asked to donate non-perishable food items during Cougar Academy to help feed those in our Key Peninsula Community who are in need. Food items that will be accepted are anything that would be on a shelf in a grocery store. Items include canned goods and anything that would be in a box. If you need any clarification on acceptable items, please ask Mr. Rivera. The Cougar Academy with the most items donated will have a party thrown for them by Ms. Janice when we get back from winter break. Let's do our best for our community! Thank you Cougs!
