1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, December 11th. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Remember to remain seated in the cafeteria and that no food or drink is allowed outside or in the hallways. Please display kindness and respect to our amazing nutrition services staff and know that a please and thank you go a long way. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of!
2. Cougar Wrestling wrapped up the regular season with great effort, grit, and perseverance yesterday against Harbor Ridge. They will wrap up the season with the District Championship Meet this Thursday at PHS from 3-8 pm. Let's continue to encourage and support our student-athletes in giving their best effort and representing Cougar Nation proud as we wrap up a fantastic season!
3. We can't wait for the girls basketball season to start up after winter break. Girls basketball registration is open! Coaches are looking for a large turnout, so get registered on our website through final forms. If you have questions please connect with the main office and ensure you have all the registration forms and a current physical on file so you are ready to go right after break.
4. Later today, the choir will be attending its annual trip to Mustard Seed to sing at the Santa for Seniors luncheon. All choir students will need to go to 2nd lunch that day.
5. Tomorrow at 6 pm, our Drama Club will show off their hard work so far this year with a showcase. Come on out to see our Cougar Drama Club in the spotlight as they perform short plays and songs.
6. After Tuesday's food drive collection, we have a change in the standings! Ms. Roland's Cougar is still in the lead with 54 total items donated, new to the podium is Ms. Muñoz in second place with 50 items donated, and Wilson is now in third place with 29 total items donated. Please remember to check the expiration date for all goods donated. We cannot donate anything that has passed the expiration date, even if it's only expired by a day! Collections will continue tomorrow. Keep up the donations Cougs!
7. This Friday our PTSA is sponsoring a movie night right after school. There will be a screening of Polar Express from 3-5 pm in the commons. Cost is $2 and includes hot cocoa, apple cider, and popcorn. Cozy in and get in the holiday spirit!
8. "It's time to dress to impress! Coming up on Thursday, December 19th is our Winter Formal Social. Students are invited to dress up in their finest threads and come dance, play games, and be with friends as we celebrate the hard work we've put into the year 2024. Tickets will be available for purchase at the bookkeeper's window Wednesday - Friday of this week, and Tuesday - Wednesday of next week. Tickets will be $3 with ASB and $4 without. On Thursday, the day of the social, tickets will be $5, and only be available the morning of, not at lunch. Be sure to get your tickets early and come join the fun!"
9. Our next spirit day is this Friday the 13th. It will be Dress Like a Holiday Food Day. Students and staff are encouraged to dress like their favorite holiday food. Ideas for color schemes for your favorite holiday foods and desserts include dressing in white and red like a candy cane, white and brown for mashed potatoes and gravy, and all red for cranberry sauce. School dress code is still observed, so no masks or inappropriate clothing. Let's be silly and safe!"
