3/7/25

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, March 7th. Did you know that March is Women's History Month? This is a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of women throughout history. From science and politics to sports and the arts, women have shaped our world in powerful ways. Each day this month, we’ll highlight the stories of inspiring women who have made a difference. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Marie Curie who was a pioneering physicist and chemist who won two Nobel Prizes for her work in radioactivity. She was the first woman to ever win a Nobel Prize and remains an inspiration in science today.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Please remember there is to be no food or drink in the hallways or outside during honor time. Please take pride in our campus and do your part to keep it clean. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
3. This is a reminder that KPMS is a hate free environment where all people, regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin or ancestry, or disability are to be respected and celebrated. Thank you for contributing to an inclusive school community to continue to promote a sense of belonging for all!
4. Our KPMS Band did an outstanding job yesterday at the COMBEA Band Festival. We will share the results as soon as they are in, but are so proud of their efforts and the way they represented Cougar Nation proud!
5. Even though the girls soccer and boys basketball just got underway, we want to get a head start on track and field registration. Track and field registration is open and you can get signed up through FinalForms on our school website. We have almost 50 students currently signed up with a goal of reaching 80. Get registered and ensure you have all of the necessary forms completed. It is going to be an amazing season and a great time to build relationships, meet new friends, and grow in your pursuit of personal goals. Go Cougs!
6. We've just installed a foot brush on the outside of the wall as you entire the building from honor time. Please use the newly installed brush for your shoes so that we aren't tracking dirt and debris throughout the building and maintain our beautiful school. Also, if you need soap, please let us know, we can support you. The soap in the soap dispensers are expensive and take money out of our school budget unnecessarily. Thank you to those that report these incidents and remember you can always send Mrs. Kinney or myself an email to report incidents of theft anonymously.
7. 8th Graders, your registration in SchoolLinks is due by the end of the day, today. Get it done!
8. Frosty Friday is still on. Thank you to the ASB students that will be working with Mrs. Christiansen to make this happen in Mr. Rivera's absence.
