1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, March 13th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. From science and politics to sports and the arts, women have shaped our world in powerful ways. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Malala Yousafzai who is a global advocate for girls' education. After surviving an attack for speaking out about the right to learn, she became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize. She continues to fight for education worldwide.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
3. Today during Cougar Academy we will be celebrating the top 30 6th and 7th graders with the Donut Extravaganza in the commons. Teachers, please send the identified 6th and 7th graders from the spreadsheet right after attendance. We will celebrate the 8th top 30 8th graders next Friday. Continue to put forth your best effort and engage in learning as we will celebrate again in the spring.
4. Tonight is the boys basketball jamboree. The 7th grade boys will be playing at Harbor Ridge and the 8th grade boys will be playing at Goodman. Tip off is at 6pm. Come on out and enjoy the games.
5. Track and field registration is open and you can get signed up through FinalForms on our school website. Get registered and ensure you have all of the necessary forms completed. It is going to be an amazing season and a great time to build relationships, meet new friends, and grow in your pursuit of personal goals. Go Cougs!
6. Remember that there is no school tomorrow. Teachers will be engaging in professional learning while students enjoy a three day weekend.
