1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, March 19th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Oprah Winfrey who is a media icon who broke barriers in television and philanthropy. She has used her platform to inspire and uplift people across the world.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
3. Attention 8th Graders! Are you interested in earning a .5 high school credit this summer? West Sound Technical College just released their summer schedule. They are offering classes about 3D animation, culinary arts, construction and trades, cosmetology, introduction to medical careers - and more. Check out your 8th grade Schoology Page for more information. Space is limited so sign up ASAP if you are interested.
4. Girls soccer and boys basketball games are back on tomorrow! We will be taking on the Roadrunners of Goodman and are so excited to see our student athletes perform. We are proud of the effort put in so far this season and are excited to see the grit and perseverance of our student athletes on full display tomorrow. Go Cougs!
5. PSD is excited to host the first annual Young Artist and Authors Showcase. This is an opportunity open to all middle school students in the district to express their creativity through the theme, "Friendship: The Heartbeat of Global Peace". This year's theme highlights the power of friendship to foster understanding, collaboration, and peace across borders. We will continue to communicate the details and posters will be on display around the school. Submissions will be accepted in various mediums, including: visual arts, essays, poetry, and music. Your submission can be turned into your Art, ELA teachers, the main office, or an administrator up until April 11th. Submissions will be on display through May 2nd and be judged by district administrators and school board members in the library to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize winners. Let's show off our creativity and promote friendship, understanding, collaboration, and peace!
