1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Tuesday, March 25th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Marsha P. Johnson who was a key figure in the LGBTQ+ rights movement and played an important role in advocating for equality and justice for marginalized communities.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
3. Please continue to take pride in our new building. Thank you to the 98% of students that use the bathroom and other space appropriately. Please continue to report acts of vandalism right away. You can fill out an incident report or email Ms. Kinney or Mr. G.
4. Girls soccer and boys basketball take on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge today at home. Please show positive sportsmanship and cheer for our teams, not against the others. Go Cougs!
5. We will start selling our "spring formal" social tickets starting this week? Sale dates will be the 26th - 28th this week. The social will be on April 10th and tickets will not be sold day of. Prices are the same as last social, $3 with ASB and $4 without.
6. We have a lot of talented students who have been rocking their graphic design skills. We will be showcasing the work of sixth graders Elliot Couture and Sierra Nickles who used their Canva skills to teach the school about digital citizenship. Check out their work on the screens in the Commons!
7. PSD is excited to host the first annual Young Artist and Authors Showcase. This is an opportunity open to all middle school students in the district to express their creativity through the theme, "Friendship: The Heartbeat of Global Peace". This year's theme highlights the power of friendship to foster understanding, collaboration, and peace across borders. Submissions will be accepted in various mediums, including: visual arts, essays, poetry, and music. Your submission can be turned into your Art, ELA teachers, the main office, or an administrator up until April 11th. Submissions will be on display through May 2nd and be judged by district administrators and school board members in the library to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize winners. Let's show off our creativity and promote friendship, understanding, collaboration, and peace!
