1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, March 26th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Dolores Huerta who is a labor rights activist who fought for better working conditions for farmworkers. She coined the phrase "Yes, we can!"
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless headphones and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
4. Girls soccer and boys basketball took on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge yesterday. All Cougar Athletes played amazingly. The 7th grade boys pulled off the win with the 98th grade boys showing huge growth while losing a close one against Harbor Ridge. For girls soccer, Jay Clark made 8 saves while Alison Otto made 7. Breeja Pepper, Kaila Morris, and Gemma Hill held the charge in the middle of the field. Esme Torres-Alcantar an d Daisy Bowman led the charge as phenomenal strikers, with the first goal of the season made by Daisy! Earning the team ice cream. Hailey Fuentes, Malina Mahoni, Haylee Hernandez, and Josefina Zacarias-Miguel led the defense up the middle while Emalee Flowers and Devin Thomas provided excellent support along the wings. A fantastic effort by everyone—great teamwork all around!
