3/27/25

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, March 27th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Sally Ride who was the first American woman in space. She inspired generations of young people, especially girls, to pursue careers in STEM.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless headphones and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of.
3. Girls soccer and boys basketball take on the Coyotes of Kopachuck today at home. Please remember you may not leave campus and return. Please display positive sportsmanship and show expected behavior. Go Cougs!
4. Track and Field registration is open for two more weeks. Get registered now! The season starts on April 9th.
5. Spring formal social tickets are on sale now. You can purchase these before school or during lunch at the bookkeeper. Prices are the same as last social, $3 with ASB and $4 without. Remember that tickets will not be sold at the door. You must pre purchase tickets.
6. PSD is excited to host the first annual Young Artist and Authors Showcase. This is an opportunity open to all middle school students in the district to express their creativity through the theme, "Friendship: The Heartbeat of Global Peace". This year's theme highlights the power of friendship to foster understanding, collaboration, and peace across borders. Submissions will be accepted in various mediums, including: visual arts, essays, poetry, and music. Your submission can be turned into your Art, ELA teachers, the main office, or an administrator up until April 11th. Submissions will be on display through May 2nd and be judged by district administrators and school board members in the library to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize winners. Let's show off our creativity and promote friendship, understanding, collaboration, and peace!
7. This coming Monday, we are excited to host Chris Scheufele for grade-level assemblies in the morning. We will be running an alternate bell schedule with no Cougar Academy and having grade-level assemblies in the gym during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period. Chris will be engaging us in spirited activities focused on building resilience and how each of us can contribute to a positive school community.
