1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, March 28th. We continue to recognize and celebrate Women's History Month throughout March. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the impact of women past and present! Today we recognize Sojourner Truth who was an abolitionist and women's rights activist known for her famous "Ain't I a Woman?" speech, which challenged racial and gender inequality.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless headphones and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day and keep getting to class on time, with your materials, and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of. Words matter and character counts!
3. Please continue to take pride in our new building. Thank you to the 98% of students that use the bathroom and other spaces appropriately. Please continue to report acts of vandalism right away. You can fill out an incident report or email Ms. Kinney or Mr. G.
4. Girls soccer and boys basketball took on the Coyotes of Kopachuck yesterday. The girls showed huge growth and pushed the ball into Kopa territory for much of the game. The 8th grade boys pulled off a 17 point win and showed toughness and grit throughout the game. Their desire to grow and improve has been a staple of this team all season long. 7th-grade boys put forth a great effort despite being down a couple of players and showed perseverance in the face of adversity. Go Cougs!
5. Track and Field registration is open for two more weeks. Get registered now! The season starts on April 9th.
6. Spring formal social tickets are on sale now. You can purchase these before school or during lunch at the bookkeeper. Prices are the same as last social, $3 with ASB and $4 without. Remember that tickets will not be sold at the door. You must pre purchase tickets.
7. This Monday, we are excited to host Chris Scheufele for grade level assemblies in the morning. We will be running an alternate bell schedule with no Cougar Academy and having grade level assemblies in the gym during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period. Chris will be engaging us in spirited activities focused on building resilience and how each of us can contribute to a positive school community.
8. There is an ASB right after announcements this morning so please send your Cougar Academy rep to the commons.
Friday Riddle: My first is in chocolate but not in ham. My second is in cake and also in jam. My third at tea time is easily found. Altogether, this is a friend who is often around. What is it?
