4/29/25

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Tuesday, April 29th. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless headphones, and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day, and keep getting to class on time, with your materials and your backpacks stored in your locker. Thanks for exhibiting expected behavior and contributing positively to a school community we can be proud of. Words matter, and character counts!
2. This is a reminder that public displays of affection are unexpected at school. Please publicly share your affection outside of school, but this behavior is unexpected within a professional environment like school.
3. The People of Color Club held their first meeting last Thursday and appreciated the engagement of all students and staff that participated. As we move forward please consider joining the club and learning, growing, and building a culture of inclusion and belonging. All colors and cultures are welcome and encouraged to attend. To join the club, please pickup a registration form from the main office.
4. Our Track team will be heading off to Goodman Middle School for the first track meet of the season tomorrow. We appreciate all of the efforts by student athletes and coaches so far this year and are excited to see our athletes in action. Go Cougs!
5. Remember, you can sign up for the first-ever Peninsula Tidehawk Brain Brawl in your grade level Schoology page in the update section. The Tidehawk Brain Brawl is open to all grade levels and will be held on Saturday, May 10th from 8am - 1pm. Lunch will be provided, and medals and trophies awarded. You must have your own transportation to and from PHS.
6. Cougs, over the next two weeks you will have the opportunity to take the Center for Educational Effectiveness Survey in your Cougar Academy. This survey is being piloted in place of Panorama. You can find the survey in your portal and we will put a link in grade level schoology folders. You will use your student ID to log in, but your survey is completely anonymous. Thank you for providing feedback to continue to support the growth and development of our school community.
7. We will be operating on our i-Ready bell schedule today as we take the i-Ready Math test. Please remember to bring wired headphones or earbuds and your fully charged Chromebook. We will be rewarding Cougar Academy classes that have 100% of students with fully charged Chromebooks, so remind your peers. Also, we will continue the new tradition of rewarding students at each grade level that show the most growth, so give your best effort and show us what you know.
