1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, May 7th…Did you know that during the month of May, we recognize Asian-Pacific Islander American History and Mental Health Awareness. Today's Mental Health tip of the day is to get outside and move your body! Whether it’s walking, skating, or just stretching in the sun, movement boosts your mood and helps your brain reset.
2. Please remember to use the bathrooms for their intended purpose and take pride in our building. Please walk and use a level one volume when speaking in the hallways to create a safe and calming environment. Please show respect to staff, guest teachers, and peers to uphold the dignity of others and our school environment. Please publicly display your affection for others outside of school to cultivate a professional work environment. Remember as we move into the final stretch and enjoy end-of-year festivities after SBA testing, participation isn't guaranteed. Expected behavior will be your ticket to participating in the festivities.
3. All week long and forever and ever, we recognize and celebrate Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. This is a week to spoil your teachers and the KPMS staff and recognize their efforts and hard work each and every day! Kind words, notes, tokens of appreciation, and expected behavior go a long way in sharing the gratitude we have for their incredible work.
4. Today is our Home Track Meet after school against Kopachuck. We are excited to host the Coyotes and watch our student athletes perform. Thank you to all of the student athletes and coaches that have engaged fully in making this season so great!
5. The PHS Football Coaches are hosting their big parent meeting tonight at PHS in the main gym at 6pm for incoming freshmen interested in playing football. Athletes need to make sure a parent or guardian can attend as we are dispersing a lot of valuable information about the upcoming season.
6. We will be diving into the ELA CAT Test tomorrow and providing extra time for students that didn't finish the ELA Performance Test. We will be operating on an extended Cougar Academy schedule, with lunches being based on your 3rd-period teacher. Great job yesterday on bringing your fully charged Chromebook. Make sure you bring it fully charged tomorrow and get a good night of rest. Let's continue to put forth our best effort and strive toward excellence in our academic achievement. Remember that we use this data district-wide to make scheduling and decisions related to support and accelerated classes. Do your best, but don't stress!
