1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Monday, May 19th…Throughout the month of May, we continue to recognize Asian-Pacific Islander American History and Mental Health Awareness. Today's mental health tip is: When something’s bothering you, go to the source. Instead of getting caught up in rumors or talking to everyone except the person involved, try having a calm, honest conversation with the person directly. It’s easy for misunderstandings to grow when we listen to secondhand information or jump to conclusions. Talking things out with the person who’s actually involved can clear up confusion, help you manage your emotions, and keep things from turning into bigger problems. Remember: rumors create drama—respectful conversations create solutions.
2. Please remember to use the bathrooms for their intended purpose and take pride in our building. Please walk and use a level one volume when speaking in the hallways to create a safe and calming environment. Please show respect to staff, guest teachers, and peers to uphold the dignity of others and our school environment. Please publicly display your affection for others outside of school to cultivate a professional work environment. Remember, as we move into the final stretch and enjoy end-of-year festivities after SBA testing, participation isn't guaranteed. Expected behavior will be your ticket to participating in the festivities.
3. Attention KPMS 6th and 7th graders: Want to help KP make decisions next year? Feel like you're up to the task of organizing events and being an important of assemblies and socials? Apply for an ASB position now! Positions available are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Applications are due today!
4. This is another reminder that Chromebooks are the property of the Peninsula School District and are checked out to each individual student as an academic tool. Please take good care of your Chromebook and bring it fully charged each day to school. Chromebooks are not allowed outside and should be stored in your locker when not being used.
5. This is a reminder that we are operating on an A/B schedule today and tomorrow. 8th graders will be taking the Science SBA test in their Science classes. Please be extra quiet in the hallways throughout the day as our 8th graders test and students complete makeup testing. Let's finish the testing season strong and continue to engage in learning as we head into the final stretch of the year.
