6/10/25

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Tuesday, June 10th…Happy Pride Month! Pride Month is also about allyship. An ally is someone who supports and stands up for others, even if they’re not part of the LGBTQ+ community. How can you be a better ally to support inclusion and belonging for all students at KPMS?
2 . Remember, as we move into the final stretch and enjoy end-of-year festivities, participation isn't guaranteed. Expected behavior will be your ticket to participating in the festivities. Please continue to exhibit expected behavior and show respect for staff, students, and yourself. Words matter and character counts.
3. The last day for the activity bus is next Thursday, June 12th. This is also the last day the Boys and Girls Club will be available.
4. We are so excited for the final band concert of the year tonight at 6:30 pm. Come out and enjoy the culmination of so much hard work, effort, and growth throughout the year. Our final Choir concert is this Thursday at 7:00 as well. Thank you to Ms. Kaal, Mrs. Webb, and all of our Cougar Band and Choir students for putting in the time and effort to make this year a memorable one.
5. A reminder as we head into the final couple of weeks to get in any missing assignments and listen carefully to timelines from your teachers. Attempting to turn in a handful of missing work the last week of school is not the recipe for success. Finish strong!
6. Field Day is approaching and looks to be a fun day for all. Before field day you need to make a decision OR you can just wing it and enjoy the day as planned. There are 2 halves to the day, divided by lunch. The upper field 1/2 of the day, students will work on their scorecard events, playing in the bounce stations, playing wiffle ball, basketball, 4 square, blowing giant bubbles, or using sidewalk chalk. The lower field 1/2 of the day has hangout spots, walking the track, yard games, kickball along with a couple of choice events with limited space.
Mrs. Welander will be in the commons for sign-ups starting today. Once all slots are full she will no longer be there. Sign-up choices to be made for your lower field time: there are 3 time slots for students to sign up for arts and crafts in Mr. Miller's room, and each 1/2 of the day has a movie choice. IF you choose the movie you must stay in the movie the entire time; This means no crafts or lower field events. The movie choice is Lilo and Stitch with a Wallace and Gromit short.
