1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Friday, June 13th. Happy Pride Month! Today, we recognize Billy Porter, a Broadway star and actor who challenges gender norms and celebrates self-expression. He reminds us that Authenticity is your superpower.
2. Remember as we move into the final stretch and enjoy end-of-year festivities, participation isn't guaranteed. Expected behavior will be your ticket to participating in the festivities. Please continue to exhibit expected behavior and show respect for staff, students, and yourself. Words matter, and character counts.
3. Our outstanding KPMS Choir put on a fantastic show of skill and talent last night. Their hard work and growth was evident in their performance. Thank you to Mrs. Webb and every choir student for exhibiting professionalism and modeling what it means to be a PRIDEFUL Cougar.
4. Field Day is approaching and looks to be a fun day for all on Wednesday, June 18th. Before field day, you need to make a decision OR you can just wing it and enjoy the day as planned. There are 2 halves to the day divided by lunch. The upper field 1/2 of the day, students will work on their scorecard events, playing in the bounce stations, playing wiffle ball, basketball, 4 square, blowing giant bubbles, or using sidewalk chalk. The lower field 1/2 of the day has hangout spots, walking the track, yard games, kickball, along with a couple of choice events with limited space.
Mrs. Welander will be in the commons for sign-ups starting today. Once all slots are full she will no longer be there.
Sign up choices to be made for your lower field time: there are 3 time slots for students to sign up for arts and crafts in Mr. Miller's room, and each 1/2 of the day has a movie choice. IF you choose the movie, you must stay in the movie the entire time; This means no crafts or lower field events. The movie choice is Lilo and Stitch with a Wallace and Gromit short.
5. Today is our final Spirit/Awards and Recognition Assembly of the year! Your first period class will be escorted to the assembly at the end of 1st period as we assemble to celebrate, honor, and recognize the efforts of so many amazing students. Please exhibit expected behavior and follow directions of student and staff speakers at all times.
