1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Monday, June 16th. Happy Pride Month! Pride Month isn’t just about celebration, it’s about visibility. Many people haven’t always felt safe being open about who they are. When we celebrate Pride, we create a space where people can feel proud, not hidden. Let’s make our school a place where everyone feels seen.
2. Remember as we move into the final stretch and enjoy end-of-year festivities, participation isn't guaranteed. Expected behavior will be your ticket to participating in the festivities. Please continue to exhibit expected behavior and show respect for staff, students, and yourself. Words matter, and character counts.
3. As yearbooks get handed out, please remember to only write positive and encouraging words and messages. Vandalism of another student's yearbook will result in restitution, requiring the replacement of the yearbook. Have fun and capture the memories of the year throughout the week, when appropriate.
4. Field Day is approaching and looks to be a fun day for all on Wednesday, June 18th. We are excited that the outdoors was the priority choice for almost all students. Due to the lack of interest in the movie and arts and crafts room, those will not be offered. The upper field and lower field schedules will move forward as planned.
5. As we prepare the building for a deep clean over the summer, please follow this schedule for locker cleanout. 6th graders should clean out their lockers today during Cougar Academy. 7th grade will clean out their lockers on Tuesday during Cougar Academy, and 8th graders will clean out their lockers on Tuesday during 6th period. You will not need any materials after Tuesday, with Field Day on Wednesday and a half day of yearbook signing on Friday. Anything left in lockers will be donated to the lost and found or thrown away on Wednesday.
6. Tomorrow night we will celebrate our 8th graders moving on to high school. The ceremony will be held at 6 pm at KPMS, followed by the 8th grade Dance/Social for those 8th graders that are eligible.
