Announcements 5/20

1. Good morning, Cougs...today is Wednesday, May 20th. We continue recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Remember that it is okay to have difficult emotions. Naming what you feel—like frustrated, nervous, or disappointed—can help you better manage those emotions and not carry them around as a burden.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. The student store will be open today, so continue to keep voices to a level one, walking in from honor time and to class, and taking responsibility for keeping the cafeteria clean. This is a reminder that your toys should remain at home or in your locker. Energy drinks of any brand are not allowed at school. Please consume those at home if your family is good with that. Also, please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away. Make it happen, Cougs!
3. Today is the final track meet of the season at Harbor Ridge. We can't wait to see even more growth and personal records from our student athletes and even more athletes qualifying for the district championships. Come on out to Harbor Ridge to cheer on Cougar Track and Field. Go Cougs!
4. Tomorrow, we will be operating on our B Bell Schedule to support longer class periods as 8th graders wrap up testing with the WCAS test in their science class. Teachers, please show this to students in the morning and remember that you will be starting in 4th period, and lunches are based on your Cougar Academy teacher. Also, makeup testing will continue this week for students who need to finish their SBA or make it up due to being absent. We will share the percentage results in the upcoming weeks as soon as they are posted and let you know what level of reward we reached. Stay tuned and finish strong.
5. "Tickets are for sale to attend the KPMS Drama Club Production of "When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors'! A comedy that proves, when it comes to live theatre, everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and it will be hilarious. Shows are next week, Friday at 6pm, and Saturday at 2pm. You can buy your tickets at the Bookkeeper's office. $3 for students, $5 for adults. Bring your family and come!
6. For our final Spirit Week of the school year, ASB is looking for any last ideas you may have. You can find the Google form in your grade level Schoology folder, and the form will be available through this Friday. Please submit your ideas. Thank you.
