Announcements 5/22

1. Good morning, Cougs...today is Friday, May 22nd. We continue recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Positive self-talk matters. Instead of saying “I can’t do this,” try saying “I’m still learning” or “I can try again.” Give yourself grace as you make mistakes, reflect, and learn from them.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. It will be a frosty one today for both lunches, so continue to keep voices to a level one, walking in from honor time and to class, and taking responsibility for keeping the cafeteria clean. This is a reminder that your toys should remain at home or in your locker. Energy drinks of any brand are not allowed at school. Please consume those at home if your family is good with that. Also, please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away. Make it happen, Cougs!
3. "Tickets are for sale to attend the KPMS Drama Club Production of 'When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors"! A comedy that proves, when it comes to live theatre, everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and it will be hilarious. Shows are next week, Friday at 6pm, and Saturday at 2pm. You can buy your tickets at the Bookkeeper's office. $3 for students, $5 for adults. Bring your family and come!
4. A reminder that those interested in the upcoming PHS Volleyball Camp need to register by today. This is open to girls of all grade levels and abilities. The details were shared with families, so connect with your family and get registered for this amazing opportunity.
5. Shoutout to Mr. Minnery and his 2nd quarter CAD class and STEM Club members for manufacturing an amazing backpack/binder cubby that you can use to store your materials at lunch before heading to honor time. You can find it to your left on your way outside. Please use this in place of leaving your stuff on the cafeteria tables. This will allow easier cleaning of the tables without anything on them.
6. Attention 8th graders: head to your grade level Schoology page and vote for the songs you want to hear on the 8th-grade end-of-year slideshow and at the dance.
Friday Riddle: You see a boat filled with people. It has not sunk. But when you look back, you don’t see a single person on the boat. Why?
