1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Friday, September 19th. As we continue recognizing and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, did you know that music is a big part of Hispanic culture! Styles like salsa, bachata, reggaeton, cumbia, and mariachi have influenced music all over the world. Today, in recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, it is important to remember you are valued, and your story matters. Never be afraid to share what you’re going through. Talking about how you feel is a sign of strength.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day. This is a reminder that gum should be left at home and is not for school. Also, thank you to those who have emailed Mrs. Kinney and me about observed acts of vandalism. It takes our entire school community to build a culture of PRIDE in our school and facilities. Please do not intentionally vandalize our school, and if something accidentally breaks, please report it right away so we can get it fixed.
3. KPMS Clubs are rolling. You can get permission slips in the main office if you would like to participate in a club. Board game club starts today, Cooking Club starts on Wednesday, October 8th, and STEAM Club will be starting in October with Mr. Minnery as well. Cougar Catch-Up starts next Tuesday and is available by drop-in every Tuesday and Thursday. Mr. Cobb will be supporting students who need a quiet place to complete missing assignments or get academic support. We are awaiting a couple of other start dates and are still looking for advisors for some of our ASB Clubs from last year. Clubs are a great way to get connected and participate in your interests with your peers.
4. You may have noticed the new bus pass system outside the main office. Bus passes will be taped to the poster, and you can swing by to grab your bus during passing time or lunch.
5. Picture day is today. Bring your best smile and be ready to head to the library with your Social Studies teacher to get your picture taken.
6. Today we celebrate Cougar PRIDE….Great job sporting your red, white, and grey and showing off that school spirit.
Friday Riddle: You see a boat filled with people. It has not sunk. But when you look back, you don’t see a single person on the boat. Why?
