Announcements 9/30

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Tuesday, September 30th. As we continue recognizing and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, did you know that Hispanic Heritage Month starts in the middle of September to line up with many Latin American independence days.
Today, in recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, it is important to remember that you are not defined by your struggles; you are defined by your courage to keep going. Keep showing up, keep trying, and keep believing in yourself.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day. Please use your Chromebook for its intended purpose and know that your activity is monitored at the building and district level. Let's go out of our way to display kindness and respect to develop a sense of belonging for ALL!
3. Our Cougar soccer and volleyball teams take on the Roadrunners of Goodman at Goodman Middle School. 7th-grade girls' volleyball took on the roadrunners of Goodman Middle School yesterday and did an amazing job. They won the first set and battled it out, with Goodman barely losing set 2 and 3. Now that they have experienced a real game, they are ready to get back to practice today to prepare to take on Harbor Ridge on Wednesday afternoon. Coach Wilson is proud of their teamwork, hustle, and determination. Our 8th-grade team and boys soccer showed great effort, skill, and school pride throughout their matches. We appreciate all teams showing up and representing Cougar Nation proudly. Go Cougs!
4. Attention all Cougars interested in wrestling. Registration is now open, so if you are a 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade student with any interest, please go to our school website to sign up and make sure you have all the necessary forms completed. Wrestling is open to students of all genders, and no prior wrestling experience is required. Go Cougs!
