Announcements 10/16

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Thursday, October 16th. As we dive deeper into October, we recognize Bullying Prevention and Awareness and Disability History & Awareness Month. It's important to remember that online words count too. Think before you post or send a message. If it’s not kind, don’t share it.
Tomorrow we are running an extended Cougar Academy schedule, like when we take iReady. Students will be screening the film "Upstander" and having discussions as a class. After the screening, 6th & 8th graders will be participating in the Healthy Youth Survey.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day. Remember to stay within your personal bubble, keeping your hands and feet to yourself. This is a reminder to enjoy your gum outside of school. Mr. McQueen is having to spend extra time with limited resources, scraping up gum. Get it together, Cougs.
3. This week is Nutrition Service Recognition and Celebration week. This week and each day moving forward, show our team respect, say please and thank you, and acknowledge the hard work and effort Ms. Janel and Ms. Teri put in every day to ensure we have quality meals at school.
4. Applications for those interested in joining this year's ASB as a grade-level rep are now available in the main office. Completed applications are due tomorrow!
5. As club participation grows, we continue to seek participation in STEM Club with Mr. Minnery every Tuesday and Thursday. The People of Color Club meets today after school and every Thursday moving forward, and is open to all students.
6. Our first Fall Social is coming up next week, Thursday, October 23rd. Tickets will be on sale next week and will not be sold at the door. Come out and enjoy the festivities. There will be music, snacks, dancing, open gym, and other ways to enjoy time with your peers.
