Announcements 10/17

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Friday, October 17th. As we dive deeper into October, we recognize Bullying Prevention and Awareness and Disability History & Awareness Month. It's important to remember that Upstanders use their influence for good. Set a positive example by showing respect to everyone, every day. Let’s continue to support each other and make KPMS a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and cared for.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls. Keep cell phones and wireless HEADPHONES and earbuds stored away and out of sight for the entirety of the school day. Remember to stay within your personal bubble, keeping your hands and feet to yourself. This is a reminder to enjoy your gum outside of school. Mr. McQueen is having to spend extra time with limited resources, scraping up gum. Get it together, Cougs.
3. As we wrap up Nutrition Service Recognition and Celebration week. Let's remember to keep the recognition and appreciation rolling on and to show our team respect, say please and thank you, and acknowledge the hard work and effort Ms. Janel, Ms. Teri, and Mr. Charles put in every day to ensure we have quality meals at school.
4. Remember, we are operating on an extended CA schedule today with lunches based on your 3rd-period teacher, just like when we take iReady. Please engage fully when screening the Upstander film and discussion as a class. 6th and 8th graders will be taking the Healthy Youth Survey after screening Upstanders. This survey is completely anonymous, so please be honest and share your perspective.
5. Our first Fall Social is coming up next week, Thursday, October 23rd. Tickets will be on sale next week and will not be sold at the door. Come out and enjoy the festivities. There will be music, snacks, dancing, open gym, and other ways to enjoy time with your peers.
Friday Riddle: I can be cracked, made, told and played. What am I?
