Announcements 1/8

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Thursday, January 8th. Please remember to walk right and talk right while speaking at a level 1 volume in the halls, keep your hands and feet to yourself, have a seat and talk at a level one volume during lunch while cleaning up after yourself, and show respect for yourself, your peers, and our amazing KPMS staff. Remember that it takes all of us to ensure an inclusive, safe, and respectful school community where everyone can thrive socially and academically. Words matter, and character counts!
2. Student Store and nutrition services snacks will not be available for first lunch today. We will watch for expected behavior today and see if tomorrow can be frosty. Clean up after yourself, have a seat in the cafeteria, and keep to a level 1 volume so we can open the student store and ensure an enjoyable lunch experience for all.
3. New club alert! Debate club will be starting up next Wednesday, January 14th. Come on out and enjoy building your persuasion and presentation skills. This club is open to all students, and students will need their own transportation as the club meets on Wednesdays. Make sure to pick up a permission slip in the main office and get your parent/guardian signature to attend. Thank you to Mrs. Swainston for advising and for the students who advocated and provided leadership in establishing this amazing club!
4. This is a reminder that the winter iReady math and reading testing is coming up next Tuesday. Remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook, give your best effort, and to be a problem solver. We will include the top 10 students that have shown the most growth from fall to winter for math and reading from each grade level in our grade-level attendance reward coming up at the end of the semester. Let's finish the semester strong and keep the new year vibes going with intentionality, focus, and growth mindset in all we do!
