Announcements 2/2

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Monday, January 2nd. The student store will remain closed today. We are hopeful students can adjust to the expected focus areas of remaining seated at a level 1 volume, throwing garbage away and being responsible for cleaning up any accidental spills, exhibiting expected behavior during honor time, and transitioning to class after lunch by walking to the right and talking at a level 1 volume. Make it happen, remind your peers, and show respect for our common spaces and school environment. We believe in you!
2. Please take a moment to reflect and remember that words hold power. KPMS is a hate-free environment where all people, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability, are respected and celebrated. Thank you for developing a sense of belonging for all and for developing an inclusive culture. It takes all of us to ensure an inclusive school community where everyone can thrive socially and academically. Remember that words matter and character counts!
3. This is a reminder that the health room is not available to students during lunch without permission from a lunch supervisor. If you need to access the health room during lunch, please see a supervisor and they will provide you with a pass.
4. Please remember to complete the January Sense of Belonging survey. It will take you 2-3 minutes and provide valuable data to inform decisions that impact our school community. Do it!
5. Last Thursday, our Lady Cougs took on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge. They left it all on the court and showed amazing sportsmanship, effort, and represented Cougar Nation well. We have our final home game of the season tomorrow against Kopa. Come on out and cheer on the team, and remember you may not leave campus and return for after-school activities. Go Cougs!
6. Valen Pop sales begin today during honor time. They will be sold in the commons and cost $1 for delivered Valen Pops with your name attached, $2 for a locked Valen Pop that can be unlocked at the bookkeeper's window on February 13th for $1, or $5 for a super locked Valen Pop that will remain completely anonymous. Get them while supplies last.
7. As we begin quarter 3 of the second semester, use this fresh start as an opportunity to reflect on where you've been and to develop a goal for where you want to be. The start of a new quarter provides an opportunity and as you may have learned from semester one, waiting until the final two weeks of school doesn't play out very well. Be proactive and continue to lean into the productive struggle of learning and to bring your best to each new learning experience.
