Announcements 2/3

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Tuesday, February 3rd. February is Black History Month, a time to recognize, honor, and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans. This month, we’ll highlight leaders, artists, scientists, athletes, and everyday heroes whose work has shaped our country and continues to inspire change today. Black history is American history. The stories we share this month will remind us how perseverance, creativity, and courage have helped build the world we live in today. Stay tuned!
2. Please take a moment to reflect and remember that words hold power. KPMS is a hate-free environment, and any form of discriminatory language or behavior will not be tolerated and will result in corrective action. Please go out of your way to be an upstander and address or report discriminatory language or behavior if you witness it. It takes our entire school community to stand up to discrimination and to develop a safe and inclusive culture where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
3. The student store is open! We are hopeful students will continue following lunch expectations by remaining seated at a level 1 volume, throwing garbage away and being responsible for cleaning up any accidental spills, exhibiting expected behavior during honor time, and transitioning to class after lunch by walking to the right and talking at a level 1 volume. Make it happen, remind your peers, and show respect for our common spaces and school environment. We believe in you!
4. This week is National School Counselors Week. Take a moment to thank Mrs. More and Mr. Sarsfield for their hard work, dedication, and support that they provide daily to students, staff, and our school community. We are grateful for the role they play in supporting Cougar success!
5. Today, after school, we have our final home game of the season against Kopa. Come on out and cheer on the team, and remember, you may not leave campus and return for after-school activities. Go Cougs!
6. Also, tonight is the PSD Jazz Festival at PHS starting at 6:30 pm. Come on out and get jazzy while the KPMS Jazz Band collaborates with all secondary Jazz Bands within the Peninsula School District.
7. Cougar Catch-Up is canceled today, and there will be no debate club after school tomorrow.
