Announcements 2/6

1. Good morning, Cougs! Today is Friday, February 6th. As we lean into Black History Month, remember this is a time to recognize, honor, and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans. Did you know that Black artists use creativity to tell powerful stories? Authors like Maya Angelou and musicians like Duke Ellington helped shape culture through words, rhythm, and expression.
2. Please take a moment to reflect and remember that words hold power. KPMS is a hate-free environment, and any form of discriminatory language or behavior will not be tolerated and will result in corrective action. Please go out of your way to be an upstander and address or report discriminatory language or behavior if you witness it. It takes our entire school community to stand up to discrimination and to develop a safe and inclusive culture where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
3. Sadly, the frost has melted away from Frosty Friday! We are hopeful students will continue following lunch expectations by remaining seated at a level 1 volume, throwing garbage away, and being responsible for cleaning up any accidental spills, exhibiting expected behavior during honor time, and transitioning to class after lunch by walking to the right and talking at a level 1 volume. Make it happen, remind your peers, and show respect for our common spaces and school environment. We believe in you!
4. The Lady Cougars had an away game at Goodman yesterday and represented Cougar Nation proudly! They left it all on the court and showed sportsmanship, grit, and a love for the game. We continue to be so proud of the effort and teamwork the lady Cougs continue to show day in and day out. Go Cougs!
5. Cougar Nation sends our full love and support to the Hawks this weekend as they pursue the accomplishment of being crowned NFL Champions. Go Hawks!
