Announcements 4/24

1. Good morning, Cougs...today is Friday, April 24th. We continue to recognize the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of students whose families serve in the military. Today is Purple Up Day! We wear purple to honor military kids and recognize all branches of the military. Purple represents unity. Let’s show our perseverance, responsibility, integrity, dignity, and excellence by celebrating and supporting our military-connected students today and on into the future!
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. The frost melted away for 1st lunch, but it will be frosty for 2nd lunch, so be sure to take responsibility for keeping the cafeteria clean, socializing at a level 1 volume, staying seated until released for honor time, and transitioning from honor time to class at a level 1 volume. Also, please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away. Make it happen, Cougs!
3. The Peninsula School District is holding a Special Olympics Unified Soccer Event on Saturday, May 2nd at Peninsula High School's Roy Anderson Field. Unified Athletics is an inclusive program from Special Olympics that joins people with and without intellectual disabilities. The focus is on friendship, equality, and competition to foster inclusion. We are looking for students interested in greeting teams as they arrive, participating in cheering sections, assisting with set-up and clean-up, and helping decorate the stadium to build a fun, inclusive atmosphere. There is a short survey/application that is actually now in grade-level Schoology pages if you are interested in supporting this amazing event.
4. The pies have been delivered, and we are moving on to the delivery of ice cream for all next week. The plan is to have free ice cream available next Wednesday, April 29th, during lunch. We will have popsicles available as well for those with dairy allergies. Tables will be set up by last name for your lunch table to retrieve your frosty reward after being dismissed by a staff member.
