Announcements 4/28

1. Good morning, Cougs...today is Tuesday, April 28th. We continue to recognize the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of students whose families serve in the military. We recognize that military students set an example of excellence through their resilience and determination consistently. Let’s continue striving for our best in all we do and take the lead in our pursuit of excellence throughout the rest of the year.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. The student store is open today, so continue to take responsibility for keeping the cafeteria clean, socializing at a level 1 volume, staying seated until released for honor time, and transitioning from honor time to class at a level 1 volume. Also, please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away. Make it happen, Cougs!
3. This week, we pause and recognize Administrative Professionals Week. Mrs. Trivette and Mrs. Ramsey-McGrath pour their heart and soul into their daily work and go above and beyond in supporting our school community each and every day. We are grateful for their passion and dedication. Take a moment this week to thank them for their service to students, staff, and families.
4. The Peninsula School District is holding a Special Olympics Unified Soccer Event on Saturday, May 2nd at Peninsula High School's Roy Anderson Field. There is a short application that is in grade-level Schoology folders if you are interested in supporting this amazing event. Remember that middle schoolers must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at the event.
5. Today, we will take the final iReady math assessment. Please give your absolute best to show the growth you've made so far this year. Remember that we use this data to make scheduling decisions for next year regarding advanced placement and support classes to ensure students are placed correctly. The more accurate the data, the more likely your schedule will accurately reflect where you should be as we create your 26/27 school year schedule. The data is pouring in from last week and we are so proud to see so many students showing tons of growth as compared to their performance in the fall, which is a contributing factor in the Peninsula School District being awarded as a Top 25 School District for Academic Achievement. Be proud of the work you are doing and the effort you give toward your academic success.
