Announcements 5/18

1. Good morning, Cougs...today is Monday, May 18th. We continue celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of AAPI communities that have shaped our country and our world throughout the month of May. Storytelling is a powerful way to share culture and history. AAPI authors, filmmakers, and artists help us understand different perspectives. We recognize author Amy Tan, whose stories have highlighted family, identity, and cultural experiences.
2. Please continue to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. The student store will be open today, so remind your peers of expectations and model these by keeping voices to a level one, walking in from honor time and to class, and taking responsibility for keeping the cafeteria clean. This is a reminder that your toys should remain at home or in your locker. Energy drinks of any brand are not allowed at school. Please consume those at home if your family is good with that. Also, please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away. Make it happen, Cougs!
3. This Wednesday is the final track meet of the season at Harbor Ridge. We can't wait to see even more growth and personal records from our student athletes and even more athletes qualifying for the district championships. Come on out to Harbor Ridge on Wednesday to cheer on Cougar Track and Field. Go Cougs!
4. Tomorrow and Thursday, we will be operating on an A/B Bell Schedule to support longer class periods as 8th graders wrap up testing with the WCAS test in their science class. Teachers, please show this to students tomorrow morning, and remember that you will be starting in 1st period, and lunches are based on your Cougar Academy teacher. Also, makeup testing will continue this week for students who need to finish their SBA or make it up due to being absent. We will share the percentage results in the upcoming weeks as soon as they are posted and let you know what level of reward we reached. Stay tuned and finish strong.
