Announements 9/10

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, September 10th. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Please throw garbage away, remain seated in the cafeteria. Frosty Fridays begins tomorrow, so bring your cash, as ice cream will be sold in the student store for $1-2. Frosty Fridays will occur each Friday as long as expectations are met during lunch each week. Let's continue to support each other and cultivate an inclusive school culture centered on belonging for all. Words matter and character counts!
2. Please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away and out of sight. If they are out, they will be confiscated and will need to be picked up at the end of the school day in the main office or be held for parents or guardians to pick up. Remember that MacBooks are the property of the Peninsula School District and cannot be customized at all. No stickers, etching, drawing etc. Fines will be assessed for damage and are much more expensive with the MacBooks, so go above and beyond to care for them and to meet the educational tech expectations.
3. Remember that attendance matters and is crucial in maintaining consistent academic growth. We will begin tracking attendance data starting on Monday and will share this out as the grade level competition is on! The grade level with the highest attendance percentage each quarter will earn a reward and be recognized for a job well done. Come to school each day and be ready to learn!
4. The fall sports season started yesterday, but it is not too late to register. Let's boost those numbers, especially for boys soccer and cross country! You can register on FinalForms right from our school website.
5. The activity bus is up and running and running. There is a north bus and a south bus that will take you to one of the identified stops. These stops are different from the regular stops, so check out the poster outside the main office to ensure you know what bus and stop you are on. Also, we will be announcing clubs in the next couple of weeks. Clubs will be available to sign up for and will run on various days throughout each week. Once clubs are announced, you can pick up a permission slip in the main office in order to participate.
6. Smile...picture day is tomorrow. You will be coming to the library during your Science class to get your picture taken. This year you will be using your photo id as your ASB card, to scan in for breakfast and lunch, to check out library books, and to scan onto the bus. Please be responsible for your id card when you receive it just like you would if it was your driver's license.
