Announcements 9/15

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Tuesday, September 15th. We continue recognizing suicide prevention month throughout September and are sharing small ways to build a school culture where everyone belongs while feeling seen and supported.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Please throw garbage away, remain seated in the cafeteria, and walk to honor time quietly as our band class is in session. Please continue to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones/earbuds stored away and out of sight. Remember that MacBooks are the property of the Peninsula School District and you need to bring them charged everyday and take care of them as fines will be assessed. Any unpaid fines will keep you from participating in extracurricular activities.
3. Remember that this week we begin tracking tardies and notifying families at the end of each day through our automated system. Mr. G will be pulling the tardy report at the end of the week and providing corrective action for students exhibiting a pattern of being late to class. Keep making a concerted effort to be on time and developing this crucial life skill.
4. This week we pause to recognize and celebrate our Tech Services and IT staff that work behind the scenes to ensure we have the technology we need to succeed. We truly appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to proactively supporting and the troubleshooting they do to support our school community.
5. This week we are taking the iReady Reading test in ELA classes. Please give your best effort and make sure to bring your fully charged MacBook and the wired earbuds provided this year. The data is used to determine scheduling decisions and is crucial in helping teachers know how to support you as the year progresses.
6. Tonight is Open House from 6-7:30pm. Please use the template provided yesterday or that was sent to your parent/guardian to ensure they have your schedule so they know what classes to attend during Open House. This is a great opportunity for parents/guardians to meet your teachers and get a taste of what your middle school day entails.
