Announcements 10/1
1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, October 1st. As we lean into Hispanic Heritage Month we celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Over the next couple of weeks, take a moment to recognize a Hispanic or Latino author. Consider picking up a book by Sandra Cisneros, Junot Díaz, or Isabel Allende.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. We made it to about 88% clean and remaining seated took less reminders, but still too many. We have high expectations and know you are capable of meeting them. We will pause on Frosty Friday this week and will monitor behavior to see if we can celebrate next Friday.
3. This is a reminder that your toys need to remain in your locker or at home. Your learning materials need to only be used appropriately and as directed by your teacher. Tech free lunch means zero use of your Neos and patterns of unexpected behavior with your Neos will result in needing to check them out from the library as needed. Continue to care for the Neos and remember that they are the property of the Peninsula School District and fines will be assessed and be expected to be paid for all damage.
4. Last night, our Lady Cougars hit the road to face off against the Road Runners of Goodman Middle School in what turned out to be a very competitive game. Though we came up short, our girls showed some serious heart out there with some absolutely stellar rallies that kept the momentum rolling. And let me tell you, the serving was on point—an impressive 83% serving percentage that kept those sets competitive! Big shout-outs to Madisen, Julia, Austyn, Natalie, Carlee, Trinity, and Kenadie for bringing that consistent energy with their serves and helping this team come together. Mark your calendars, everyone—our next matchup is this Monday, October 5th at Harbor Ridge. Let's go, Cougs!
5. Remember it is never too late to join our KPMS clubs. I've got one of the leaders of the People of Color Club with me this morning. Majesty would like to share some brief info about the People of Color Club...
