Announcements 10/8

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, October 8th. As we continue into Disability Awareness Month let's continue to celebrate the strengths, talents, and perspectives that students and staff with disabilities bring to our school community. Remember that friendship doesn't require someone to be exactly like you. Some of the best friendships grow from learning how someone else sees the world and remaining curious about their perspective.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. We will continue to monitor lunch and hallway behavior to determine if it will be frosty this Friday. Please remember that words hold power and that it is the impact of your words, not the intent that matters.
3. Picture retakes are today! If you need a retake or were absent on picture day, you will have the opportunity to get your picture taken during lunch and honor time tomorrow.
4. We are so proud of our student athletes that battled it out yesterday vs. Kopachuck. The growth from the beginning of the season to this point is evident and we are grateful for the way our teams are representing Cougar Nation. The 8th grade volleyball team played hard taking the second match to extra points.Top servers from last night's game were Julia going 10 for 10 and Kenadie 6 for 6. Please come cheer on our girls next week at the final two home games on Tuesday and Thursday. 7th grade plays at 3:30 and 8th grade at 4:30.
Today we are hosting Kopachuck for a home Cross Country meet. We can't wait to see more personal records from our student athletes and are grateful for all of the coaches and volunteers that stepped up to make this meet and season memorable.
Remember to get registered for wrestling! We are nearing 40 wrestlers and would love to meet our goal of 60 student athletes participating. No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice. Go Cougs!
5. We are holding our first ASB student council meeting tomorrow during Cougar Academy. Teachers, please send both representatives and alternates for this first meeting. Thank you to our student representatives that stepped up to provide student voice and leadership to continue to shape our school culture and community.
