Announcements 10/9

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, October 9th. As we continue into Disability Awareness Month let's continue to celebrate the strengths, talents, and perspectives that students and staff with disabilities bring to our school community. Remember that everyone communicates differently. Some with words, some with devices, some with gestures or sign language. Patience and curiosity go a long way in shaping successful communication and belonging.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. It will be Frosty today! Continue to follow expectations and positively contribute to a school culture we can be proud of. Remember that words hold power and that it is the impact of your words, not the intent that matters.
3. We are so proud of our amazing cross country team! They showed sportsmanship, class, and true passion at the meet yesterday. There were many personal records made and some 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes by our runners. Thank you to all of the athletes, coaches, and volunteers that helped make for an amazing home cross country meet.
Remember to get registered for wrestling! We are nearing 40 wrestlers and would love to meet our goal of 60 student athletes participating. No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice. Go Cougs!
4. Remember that there is no school on Monday for students.
5. Our first ASB student council meeting is today during Cougar Academy. Teachers, please send both representatives and alternates for this first meeting in the commons right after announcements. Thank you to our student representatives that stepped up to provide student voice and leadership to continue to shape our school culture and community.
