Announcements 10/14

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Wednesday, October 14th. As we approach the final days of Hispanic Heritage Month let's not forget to lean into the rich cultures of Hispanic and Latino American culture all year long. A fun fact as you may have noticed our Spanish students breaking open some piñatas yesterday. The piñata tradition has roots that trace back through Spain to ancient China, evolving into the celebratory tradition we know in Mexico and beyond today.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Continue to follow expectations and positively contribute to a school culture we can be proud of and to ensure this Friday is a frosty one. Remember that words hold power and that it is the impact of your words, not the intent that matters.
3. Our soccer and volleyball teams took on the Roadrunners of Goodman yesterday. Thanks to everyone that came out to cheer on your cougar volleyball teams last night! It was a tough loss to Goodman but the team played well with many great rallies making it a fun and competitive game to watch. For 8th grade our lead servers with 5 each were Madisen, Trinity, and Kenadie. We are so proud of the way our student athletes have battled through adversity this season. Our last home game is tomorrow, Thursday Oct 15th. 7th grade plays at 3:30 and 8th at 4:30. Go Cougs!
Our Cross Country team will be pursuing more personal records today at their final regular season meet before the Championships next Thursday. Today's meet is at Gig Harbor High School. Join us in celebrating our student athletes and coaches as they pursue excellence on the course. Go Cougs!
Remember to get registered for wrestling! We are nearing 40 wrestlers and would love to meet our goal of 60 student athletes participating. No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice.
4. This week is Nutrition Services Appreciation week. Take a moment when getting breakfast or lunch, to let our amazing nutrition services staff know how much you appreciate the work they do daily to ensure we have quality food service.
