Announcements 10/15

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Thursday, October 15th. Today is the final official day of Hispanic Heritage Month, but let's not forget to lean into the rich cultures of Hispanic and Latino American culture all year long. Recognition months are about awareness and as we transition to recognizing disability awareness and bullying prevention, let's not lose sight of what all of this is about. Each of these months of official recognition remind us of the beauty of our country's diversity and the unique backgrounds and experiences that we all bring to our community. These differences are intended to bring us together to learn and grow, not divide us. Stay grounded in the belief that each of us matter and to treat each other with dignity and respect. Words matter and character counts.
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Continue to follow expectations and positively contribute to a school culture we can be proud of and to ensure this Friday is a frosty one. As of right now, we are planning for frostiness for first lunch, but will make a determination on second lunches frostiness at the end of the day. Remember to keep your personal electronics away and out of sight. Some students have reached the point of parent pickup and this becomes a burden to your family to have to come pick up your personal electronic items. Make it happen Cougs!
3. Our cross country team showed out yesterday at the Tide Invitational. Thanks to everyone that came out to cheer on our student athletes. It was another day of PRs, fantastic sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence. The season wraps up next Thursday for the district championships at Sehmel park. Go Cougs!
Our volleyball and soccer teams take on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge today after school for our final home matches. Come on out and cheer on the squads. Remember if you are staying, you must remain on campus after school, be at the soccer field or in the gym, and show positive sportsmanship by cheering for our teams and not against the other team.
Remember to get registered for wrestling! We are nearing 40 wrestlers and would love to meet our goal of 60 student athletes participating. No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice.
