Announcements 10/16
1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, October 16th. For the reminder of October and in recognition of Disability Awareness let's celebrate the strengths, talents, and perspectives that students and staff with disabilities bring to our school community. Remember that many well-known people — athletes, scientists, artists, and leaders — live with disabilities. Different does not mean less capable; it means a different path to success. Remember words matter and character counts!
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Continue to follow expectations and positively contribute to a school culture we can be proud of and to ensure Fridays are frosty. Today, it will be a frosty first lunch, but the frost melted for second lunch. Be responsible by having a seat in the cafeteria, being responsible for yours or others garbage, and exhibiting expected behavior during honor time. We believe in you, so make it happen Cougs!
3. Also, a friendly reminder that times and bells don't release students, they notify teachers. You are expected to follow your teacher's directions and routines as they relate to dismissal.
4. Our volleyball and soccer teams took on the Falcons of Harbor Ridge yesterday and showed how far they've come this season. The 7th grade girls beat Harbor Ridge while the 8th grade girls battled hard and had 3 tight sets that could have gone either way. Boys soccer increased their goals and showed tons of grit and perseverance throughout the match. We are so proud of our student athletes and the way they've represented Cougar Nation throughout the season. Fall sports wraps up next week as we approach wrestling season.
Remember to get registered for wrestling! We made it to 40 wrestlers and would love to meet our goal of 60 student athletes participating. No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice.
