Announcements 10/23

1. Good morning Cougs! Today is Friday, October 23rd. Let's continue to remain grounded in being kind, inclusive, and developing into Upstanders. Remember that everyone has a story we can't see from the outside. Before you judge, get curious. Ask someone about something they love today and as we say often, words matter and character counts!
2. Please remember to walk right and talk right while keeping to a level 1 volume and staying within your personal bubble. Please remember that classes are in session during lunch transitions. Please transition quietly at a level 1 volume so classes are not disturbed. Continue to follow expectations and positively contribute to a school culture we can be proud of and to ensure that every Friday is like today, a Frosty Friday. Great job this week. Keep up the great work and enjoy the frost!
3. Also, remember to keep your cell phones and wireless headphones or earbuds need to be stored away and out of sight. Almost all students are doing a great job caring for the Macbook Neos. Continue that care and remember that everything looked up is filtered through the Securly system and alerts admin, counselors, district office staff, and parents/guardians. Please use the Neos for academic purposes when prompted by your teacher.
4. Thank you to everyone that came out to support our athletics programs at their season-ending tournaments yesterday. It was clear amongst all teams that the time and effort put in throughout the season led to enormous growth. We are grateful for all of the coaches, volunteers, and student athletes that participated and supported a fantastic fall season. As we make the transition to season 2, don't forget to register for wrestling! No previous experience is required and all grade levels and genders are welcome. Get registered so you are ready for the first day of practice.
5. This is a reminder that there is an ASB Meeting in commons this morning during Cougar Academy, right after announcements. Please send only one representative with paper and pencil for notes!
6. Conference week is next week. We've been sharing information with families and can't wait to share positive aspects of your academic and behavioral life at school as well as team with your families to problem solve areas that need to be improved. Every day next week is a half day with school dismissing at 11:30. Wednesday is a regular start time, but will be a half day. We will be operating on an A/B schedule with periods 1-3/CA on Monday/Wednesday and periods 4-6/CA on Tuesday/Thursday. You will attend all periods/CA on Friday. Teachers please share the bell schedule over the next couple of days and answer questions so we are all aligned as we head into conference week next week.
